2017 Year in Review

2017. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. It was a total cliche and life summed up in 365 days. Personally and professionally, it was a deeply lived year. And a lot of fun, too. Here are some of the highlights of Silver Charm Events 2017:

A few days into the New Year, January 11, I participated in Love Wins Out. More than 40 other wedding and event professionals produced five back-to-back LGBT weddings at the York Manor. There was love, there was joy, there was cake and champagne, and by God, yes, there was dancing. It was an amazing, amazing day, and I was proud to be a part of it.  This is Colleen and Jennifer, our first couple to get married. You can find more fantastic pictures of the day by clicking here.

On February 18th, I was back at Smog Shoppe for Rachael and Mike’s wedding. Pure style and coolness that triumphed over a rainy day!

March 21st, we were with Sonnet and Greg at Calamigos Ranch, following their ceremony on Santa Monica Beach.

In June, I officiated Larsa and James’s elopement in Redondo Beach. They had a great story – Larsa was finishing up Medical School in New Orleans, and was heading back home to Sydney (yes, Australia) where she had met James. They decided to meet, uh, halfway in California. Since they didn’t have time after he arrived to go to the county recorder,  I issued their marriage license to them, too.

I also officiated several ceremonies for Great Officiants, throughout the year, including Bree and Tyson’s beach wedding in September in Malibu.

I love officiating, and it was a busy summer for it! Congratulations as well to Amy and Will, Amanda and Ryan, Megan and Michael, and Ashley and Jonathan and Candice and Chris. This is my last year with Great Officiants, and I just want to thank Alan Katz (i.e, Altar Boss) and the rest of the team over there for all the support and laughs over the past few years.

Sarah and Joe’s wedding on October 7, brought a long-held dream of both theirs and mine to life, coordinate a wedding in a Bookstore. The Last Bookstore in Downtown L.A. to be precise. Their reception was at the Unique Space.  There was a pirate shaped bouncy house, you guys! And three cakes.

We finished up the year with Erica and Andy’s beautiful Fall – themed wedding at Westlake Village Inn. I was so lucky to work with such wonderful, interesting couples and vendors this year. Thanks to all of you for trusting me to help you bring your wedding visions to life.
