Wedding Wise Wednesday – September 23rd
Posted: September 24, 2009
After back to back weddings in the past two weeks, it only FEELS like a week of rest, but truth is, I’ve got the workshop this weekend, Cheryl and Paul’s wedding in a couple of weeks, and a bunch of potential bride meetings (yay potential brides!) in between. I’m waiting for pics from Saturday’s wedding – Kim Fox promised she would get a couple to me this week, and you’ll be the first to know when she does. The Bride? Stunning. That’s all I have to say.
It’s been a fairly productive week at Silver Charm Events. Ellen and Patrick found a photographer and Ellen found a dress, Nina and Rob found a wedding site, and I’ve vowed to find Anne and Jack their wedding site by the end of next week, or fall on my back-up rhinestone-covered cake knife. I mean it. And I have to get back to it, so this WedWiseWed is going to be a little short.
SQUEE Of The Week:
Remember a few weeks back, when I told you about this cool wedding chapel/art installation in New York and bemoaned how there was nothing like it here in L.A.? Well, I was trying to find parking in front of the Biltmore on Saturday (didn’t work – had to double-park) and right there on Wilshire was The Albertson Wedding Chapel, which, wait for it, has been there for 35 years. Duh. Wedding packages start at $290, you can get your wedding license there for just a few more bucks than going to the county clerk’s office, and you can add photography, flowers, a violinist, and even rent a wedding dress. Whew! And with a little more notice, you can even have a religious ceremony.
Wanna Go to Napa?
Because Style Me Pretty wants to send you there, whether you’re getting married up there or not. Free destination wedding book, photography consultations, CERAMICS! Hotel stays, invitations, pretty, pretty, pretty, and calming. I double-checked – I’m not eligible. But you are, so enter, already.
Turn that wedding shoe frown upside down:
Mrs. Beever on Blogger Brides has some great advice about how to survive wearing high-heels on your wedding day. I’m definitely picking up a friction block stick to put in the bridal emergency kit.
That’s it for now, and just in time. See you at the end of the aisle,
Liz C.
