Meet Jenn German, of Bella Sparkle Jewelry (Los Angeles Weddings)

“I really like having a little bit of sparkle, a little bit of sophistication, but also a little bit of whimsy,” Jenn German told me. “The world that we live in is so pretty and so unique and so special, and I want to bring all of that into my jewelry.”

Jenn German is the owner of Bella Sparkle Jewelry, and she designs and makes all of its handmade, original pieces. I coordinated Jenn’s wedding six years ago, and have been friends with her ever since. On November 16 – this Saturday – she’s hosting her first Holiday Jewelry Party and Open House. I’ll have a table there, too, as a sponsor.

Jenn started designing jewelry in 2009 as a hobby, until she was stopped in Costco by someone who wanted to buy the necklace she was wearing. And so, Bella Sparkle was born. She modeled most of the jewelry in her collections on Facebook, and with word of mouth through friends and family, sales started to grow.

 She launched her website soon afterward, and Her Hunger Games collection – gorgeous jewelry inspired by the books and the movies – quickly became a bestseller. She’s also done several customized pieces for weddings. “Brides will either pick out jewelry from the site, and I’ll make them a little more elaborate for their wedding day,” she says. “Or, we’ll design something original together. I also throw in some simpler earrings or necklaces for their bridesmaids, as a Thank You.”

Red Soles Winery in Paso Robles carries some of her other pieces. But, that was as non-virtual as Jenn got for awhile. “Everyone told me that I should do a trunk show or jewelry party. A friend of mine who lives in Hawaii had a Holiday Bazaar at her house last year. She asked me to send her some of my pieces, and they sold so well that we decided to do a party here in L.A. this time!”

The Holiday party will be co-hosted by and will  feature jewelry by her cousin Lynne, of Lynne’s Soul Stones. “It’s going to be  really good time – wine, snacks, looking a jewelry, and a chance buy gifts for yourself, and friends and family,” Jenn says. “If you see something online that you like, let me know, and I can bring it to the party.” All jewelry will be discounted between 10-25% of it’s original cost.
