Ask Liz: But Maybe I Don't WANT Bridesmaids! (Los Angeles Wedding Planner)

New Advice Column on The Happy Bride Project:

Dear Liz, 

My fiancé and I are planning a wedding for next year and, and right now I am still unsure if I want to have bridesmaids.  We are planning a very small wedding and bridesmaids seem like such an unnecessary thing for such a small affair. 

However, I am getting pressure from my parents, who expect my sister to be one of my bridesmaids, and a few other  friends who keep asking me about it. I’ve tried to explain, but they can’t understand why I wouldn’t want to have any, and they keep saying how much fun it would be, and I’ll regret it if I don’t.  But I really love the idea of just me and him, standing up there by ourselves, and a small intimate ceremony.  What should I do?
