In Praise of Backyard Weddings (Los Angeles Wedding Planner)

Congratulations, Chantal and John!

I love them, I really do. No chiavari chairs, no five foot tall centerpieces or fondant peacock cakes. Just everything stripped down to the love part. Love, and good food. I was lucky enough to officiate Chantal and John’s wedding, last minute, on Saturday. John was scheduled to ship out on Monday, so Chantal and her family put this together right quick – ceremony at her aunt’s house, dress by JCPennys, jewelry by Forever 21, and you can’t see it, but her Granfather’s Air Force medal is clipped to the back of her dress.

And then, on Sunday, my neighbor’s mom got married and they invited us. One great weekend of love, Italian food and cake.
