Wedding-Wise Wednesday – May 20, 2009

Wednesday already, huh? First of all, hairstylist Daniel Gravel, who is one of the sponsors for my monthly workshop, is updating his wedding portfolio and needs a couple of models. Free wedding hair! Well, not really, just a free chance to try out possible designs for deeply discounted wedding hair later, but if you’re interested or know someone who might be, email me at liz@silvercharmevents.com. He’s setting it up for Sunday, May 31st at 1pm at his salon in Beverly Hills.

Okay, So This is Just Cool:
Bride to Bride Boutigue
Basically the ebay of wedding stuff. Not only can you get “pre-owned” wedding dresses, but left-over favors and reception accessories, vases for flowers (which will definitely cut your cost down), and stationery and invitation paper. And when you’re done, you can sell them and get some of that money back. There’s also a category for “unwanted wedding gifts”, and hey, I won’t tell if you don’t.

Embrace the Pretty. For Less.
I do love the calligraphy-addressed envelopes. I do! And I finally found a company that does it for a little less – Neither Snow will do it for only $2 per envelope, which is like, half of what I’ve been able to find anywhere else. They’re on the east coast, though, so you’ll have to send the envelopes out to them and have them sent back, but still, BARGAIN. And ship it “Media Mail” which will bring down the cost even more.

Organic Wedding Flowers. This, Too, is for Less.
Wisteria Lane is offering 25% of any order over $150, which you will be able to reach, wedding-wise, without breaking a sweat. Call 1-888-345-6101 and ask for Sherene, or email her at Sherene@wisterialaneflowershop.com for more information.

Alfred Angelo’s Dress Sale is Still On
Until next Wednesday, the 27th, when I guess I have to stop talking about it. More on that in this post. That they have a line called “The Recessionista” just cracks me up.

Speaking of Recessionistas, My next Recession Bride’s Workshop is June 14th. Your Dream Wedding on Your Budget. Find Out How.

See you back here next week,
