Three Things Your Wedding Guests Need to Know
Posted: November 4, 2026

Weddings are a lot – a lot of work, a lot of time, and a lot of planning. You want to create a day that you and your family and guests will enjoy and remember…favorably. It’s a lot of pressure. Ease some of that by making sure your guests get these three things at least 72 hours before they’re supposed to show up:
Contact information – Okay, first of all, no, no one should be contacting you on your wedding day. But all your guests need your venue(s) address, phone number, and website, plus a reminder of the start time. Again, send an email or text that week, and don’t be afraid to let your website do the heavy lifting.
Your wedding party should have one textable number – your planner/Mom/Best Man/Maid of Honor/whoever’s most likely to answer quickly.
Parking – I’m a little sensitive about this because I live in Los Angeles, and we are ruled by our cars. When we get somewhere, where are we going to park? How long can we park there? And how much is that going to cost? Give your guests as much detail as you can, and if you don’t know, ask your venue or whoever will be in charge of that area.
If you’re providing a shuttle, send out the details again – when and where it picks up and when it takes them back. Uber code for the day? What is it, what’s the discount, and how long does it last?
Set their expectations – Do you have a theme or dress code? What about a wedding hashtag? An unplugged ceremony? No vegan options in the buffet? Can they request songs from the DJ? Let them know!
These don’t all have to be in one text or email, and yes, you may have provided this information before. But if it’s important to you, and you know it’s going to be important to your guests, send it out.
See you at the end of the aisle,
Liz
