Fashionably Geek – I am a sucker for the geek wedding stuff, I know. I don’t have any tattoos, because I can never decide what I’d want to have on my body for the rest of my life. But whatever that would be, this would be a close second.

New! Tips from the Front Lines:

I’m going into the home stretch for my September 1 wedding, and thought I’d pass along two tips that are coming out of that. 1.The only vendor you should wait until the last minute to pay is your rental company. Something ALWAYS has to be added to or subtracted from the invoice. Right now, it’s a bar mat and an extra 6ft table.

2. If all of your vendors need insurance, start on that early. It might take a while for them to get it if they don’t have it, or even if they do. I started asking in May, and it took until August to get everyone’s in!  Lately, I’ve made sure to get mine in and approved first, before I ask the other vendors for theirs. That way, I can send them the sample of what it’s supposed to look like, including the wording for “additionally insured.” I got my insurance policy from www.theeventhelper.com. It was very reasonably priced, and they cover couples, too, not just vendors.
